Professional Development Program (PDP)

The Dhillon School of Business Student Professional Development Program (PDP) is designed to provide you with insight, knowledge, skills and experiences which will assist you throughout your academic career and beyond. Through your engagement in the program, you will become more self-aware and knowledgeable relative to the core themes for professional success. You will have a competitive advantage upon graduation due to the professional networks you will develop through PDP.

The program is available to all Management students in any year of their degree. Opportunities through the program include:

  • Industry speaker and networking events
  • Interactive workshops
  • Industry Panels
  • Funding for student conferences and case competitions
  • Events specific to majors
  • Professional Development Conference
  • A unique executive in residence program

Professional Development Fund

In addition to the valuable opportunities provided through the Professional Development Program, you may find additional opportunities for growth and learning outside of the program. Some exterior opportunities can be found here.

There are two types of funding for which you may be eligible:

1. For Student Leaders to Attend a Conference (up to $500)

2. For any Mngt Student Actively Participating in a Business Competition or at a Conference (up to $2,000)

For either type of funding, you must be a Management student in good academic standing on any U of L campus, and you must be registered as a full-time student (exceptions may be made for Edmonton and Calgary students).

*Note that you must submit your application online. Print submissions are not accepted.

To ensure the best chance of receiving support funding, please apply as soon as you choose an event.

You may also apply for a Student Union Travel and Conference Grant.

Financial Support for Management Student Club Activities

Looking for financial assistance for a worthwhile Management student club event?

The Faculty of Management provides funding to ratified Students’ Union clubs that benefit a broad range of Management students and enhance the reputation and goals of the University and Faculty.

Club representatives can prior to the commencement of an activity and must have a faculty advisor who will attend meetings and provide mentorship to the group.

Students are encouraged to also apply for funding through Students' Union.
