1. How many courses can I take in a semester (course load)?

Fall/Spring

Please refer to the current Undergraduate Academic Calendar in the following section for the most complete information:

In the Faculty of Management, the usual course load for a full-time student is five per regular (Fall or Spring) semester, but a student is considered to be full-time with three courses.

Students may accelerate their programs by carrying heavier study loads or by attending Summer Sessions. Students in good standing may take up to six courses (18.0 credit hours) in regular semesters. You can add a sixth course the first day of classes for the semester through The Bridge. It should be stressed that heavy course loads are a common cause of poor academic performance. Students may also complete degree requirements with a diminished course load or entirely on a part-time basis.

Summer

Please refer to the current Undergraduate Academic Calendar in the following section for the most complete information:

  • Registration | 6. REGISTRATION LIMITATIONS | b. Maximum Credit Hours | Summer Session

A maximum of 3 courses can be taken in Summer Session I. The maximum number of courses Management students may take over Summer Sessions II, III, and II/III is three.

Note: In the event of a difference between the maximum credit hour limits set by the Faculties/Schools, students in Combined Degree programs will be governed by the more stringent limits.

2. How many introductory level (1000 level) courses can I take?

Please refer to the current Undergraduate Academic Calendar in the following section for the most complete information:

Only one of Geography 1000 and Geography 1200 will be counted toward this limit.

Combined degree programs may differ.
