Distinguished Visiting Research Chair in Brain Science, and Child and Family Health and Wellness
Fulbright Canada and the Palix Foundation have partnered to create and support a program of distinguished research chairs that focus on brain science and child and family wellness. Together with Alberta’s three research-intensive universities, this opportunity will allow extraordinary American scholars and top-tier applied researchers to spend one semester as a visiting research scholar working in a targeted area of academic inquiry. We are particularly interested in scholars who work across disciplines and sectors, and whose work focuses on making an impact on health and wellness outcomes. Regardless of discipline, the models that scholars are employing should be based on current brain science about the effects of toxic stress on child, family and lifecourse health and wellness outcomes and, in particular, those related to mental health and addiction. The Chair receives a stipend of US$35,000.
