For every person, every age, every level.

Let your musical journey begin here.

The University of Lethbridge Music Conservatory is a music school made up of highly trained musicians from the U of L Department of Music, and distinguished musicians from the community. Our mission is to nurture the musical potential in everyone – every age, every level, every aspiration! Centrally located in downtown Lethbridge (Casa – 230 8 St S).  We can't wait to make music with you!

10 Reasons to Study at the Conservatory of Music

We are a team of highly trained musicians/educators from the University of Lethbridge Department of Music and distinguished musicians from the community.  Our lessons are one-on-one and are customized to suit the needs of each individual student. The Conservatory has been operating since 1968! You can trust us to guide you on your musical journey.

We offer multiple performance opportunities for our students throughout the year, including bi-annual studio recitals.  These include fun, casual recitals like our Get into Character Halloween Recital, as well as our more serious opportunities such as our Music Festival prep concert and Studio Showcase events.  Most are planned at Casa and are free for our students to participate.

We offer affordable payment plans with no administration fees. We understand that circumstances can change, which is why you can withdraw/cancel with 30 days’ notice.

We are fortunate to access Department of Music Faculty for exclusive masterclasses for our students.  We also bring in a wide array of distinguished visiting musicians so our students can perform for them or even simply observe the masterclass. Masterclasses are opportunities for students to get new perspectives and provide an encouraging environment to perform in front of peers.

We are located in Casa, a vibrant and beautiful community arts centre located in the heart of Lethbridge!  Parking is free during your lessons!

We offer lessons taught by specialized instructors on piano, strings, voice, drum set, and guitar, as well as most woodwinds, brass and world percussion instruments!  We have a fleet of 25 beautiful Yamaha pianos, a huge authentic world percussion collection, and have rentals available to our students on strings and guitar!

For students who want more than just the weekly lessons, our Young Artists Music Academy (YAMA) is an intensive, enriching performance-based program available to teenaged classical musicians.  It includes several activities per week that aim to expand the awareness, skills and experiences of the classical musician. This program will optimize the success of our most dedicated and gifted young musicians.

Our students have access to exclusive discounts on our Podcast/Recording Studio and practice room rentals, as well as our asynchronous theory courses which are a perfect companion to your private lessons!

Between our private lessons on almost any instrument, to our group programs and ensembles, we have a music program for every age and ability.

Music has a powerful influence on our lives. Music can heal, educate, stimulate, foster skills, be uplifting, calming, build perseverance, discipline, and so much more! Music is a secret superpower! The research showing music’s power is abundant and overwhelming. At every turn, researchers show us the impact that music can have on our lives, and even more importantly, on our children’s lives. Amazing things can happen when a child’s brain is exposed to music!
