Youth Singers (9-12 years)
The U of L Youth Singers offer singers aged 9-12 a fun and dynamic opportunity to grow as singing musicians. No audition is required. This choir sings a wide variety of music, including pop, folk, classical, ethnic and traditional choral music in two and three parts with and without accompaniment. Their weekly rehearsals, led by conductor Kathy Matkin-Clapton, are an energetic fusion of hard work, laughter and focus on growing together as a choir. New singers join this choir every year while many others have been part of the Youth Singers for a number of years. The choir is very welcoming and all singers are valued for the contribution they bring to the group. They perform several times throughout the year, most recently as featured guests in Disneyland, California. Weekly rehearsals are led by Kathy Matkin-Clapton.
• Performed in Disneyland Park, Anaheim, CA (2016)
• Guest performers in the U of L Opera Workshop’s production of Hansel and Gretel (2016)
• featured on ‘A Winter’s Night’ album released in 2016
There is no audition required to belong to the Youth Singers. New singers are welcomed throughout the year! These choirs also have their own website, so please feel free to check it out for more information!
