Kindermusik Music and Movement
8 Weekly Classes, running May - June 2017
Our Kindermusik classes are created by early childhood music experts, and aim to foster a love of music, rhythm, and self-expression while enhancing all areas of your child's development. Our classes involve families in the joy of their child'sdevelopment with high quality materials that support Kindermusik's philosophy that "The best learning environment is in the home!"
Feel the Beat: Let's Drum
July 10 - 14, 2017 (half and full day options)
Lethbridge's percussion experts, Joe Porter and Adam Mason, will teach campers all about the amazing percussion instruments that the U of L music students use. From the power of Japanese Taiko, the tropical melodies of Caribbean steel pans, and the interlocking grooves of African drums, you'll travel around the world without leaving the city! And, you can invite all of your friends and family to the final performance on Friday, July 14. You won't believe how fun this camp is! Beginner and experienced drummers are welcome.
Feel the Beat: Let's Sing
July 17 - July 21, 2017 (half and full day options)
If you love to sing, dance or act, this is definitely the camp for you! This year’s camp features a musical theatre production (appropriate for each age group), and is non-auditioned so vocalists of all levels are welcome! Throughout the week, the campers will learn the music and script, and then perform the entire production on the last day of camp (July 21 at 3:00pm).

July 24 - July 27, 2017 (9am-12pm)
FIDDLETASTIC CAMP, 7yrs -17yrs. A summer camp for aspiring fiddlers, with as little as 1 year of playing experience. Join us for this four-day camp designed to explore the east coast, Celtic and old time fiddle repertoire in a fast paced and fun group setting!
July 4-20 / August 1-17, 2017 (Tues and Thursdays)
Children will participate in play-based music activities to support communication, social interaction, sensory stimulation and self-expression. Activities take place in a small group setting and include singing, playing instruments, movement to music, musical games and relaxation. Each family will receive a Music Together CD and songbook to take concepts from the sessions to the home.
Young Music Makers is facilitated by Andrew Ichikawa, a certified music therapist and a licensed Music Together Within Therapy facilitator. This program is open to individuals with developmental needs accompanied by a caregiver or family member. Music Together is an international early childhood music and movement program emphasizing developmentally appropriate music activities and facilitating adult involvement. Children can enroll in both July and August classes; in that case, the fees are $102 for the second session.
Southern Alberta Vocal Experience (SAVE)
July 29 - August 5, 2017
This summer vocal program is for talented young singers between 13 and 20 years, providing an opportunity for intensive study with established artists, teachers, and vocal coaches. The focus of this program is intensive, one-on-one training with faculty in private lessons, coaching sessions, and master classes.

Strummin' N Hummin' - Beginner Guitar
Mondays, April 24 - June 26, 2017
Great for teachers to use in the classroom or for those late nights around the campfire! In just nine lessons, you will learn to accompany simple folk songs and sing-along tunes on the guitar. Topics include basic guitar technique, common open-string chords, basic strumming patterns and their application to songs, tuning, and general guitar maintenance. Anyone ages 16+ years can join this class!
