Event Update:
After kicking off this event with a heavy snowfall, the 5 Days crew toughed out the week in their "cardboard condos" and raised an impressive amount of money for Woods Homes.
Fundraising will continue until March 31, 2013 - anyone interested in donating can visit http://5days.ca/lethbridge/donate/ You can also view the daily donation amount update on this page.

A group of University of Lethbridge students -- and some professors -- will once again brave the cold at the annual 5 Days for the Homeless event, which takes place from Sunday, March 10 (evening setup) to Friday, March 15 (finish at 5 p.m.) near the SU Building bus loop on the U of L campus.
The group is raising funds for the Wood’s Homes Emergency Youth Shelter, a local organization that supports youth at risk in the community. To date, student groups have raised more than $50,000.
The goal for this year’s event is to raise $10,000.
Professors Rich Perlow (Management) and Nick Hanson (Fine Arts) have also signed on to spend a night in the great outdoors.
Media representatives are welcome to also join the group overnight — or for a portion of the night -- to experience being outdoors first-hand.
Members of the team will be available on Monday morning (March 11) between 10 a.m. and 12 noon for interviews.
The students will be sacrificing all technology, routine meals, a warm bed, and their own personal hygiene to contribute to the cause.
Students are only permitted to eat food that is given to them.
In addition to not having access to their own money, students will only have the clothing on their backs and the sleeping bags that they are permitted to bring with them as warmth and clothing for the full five days.
The students are responsible to build their own shelter out of cardboard and tape, and it is there in the box located near the bus loop on campus that the students will be living.
Donations can be made either in person (at tables setup on campus, and to the student volunteers) or online at this website: http://5days.ca/lethbridge/donate/.
Also for any purchase of clothing or giftware made at the University of Lethbridge Bookstore over $25 during the week of the event, the Bookstore staff will donate $5 to the cause.
Sponsors for this year’s event are: Save on Foods West, and Candie Co Clothing.
