Scholarships - Opening Doors to Greater Opportunities

Making the decision to pursue a university program is a big commitment - and one that can sometimes present a financial challenge for you as a prospective student.

Each year, hundreds of University of Lethbridge students meet this challenge with the assistance of scholarships and awards sponsored by the University and outside organizations. The funds allow students to focus on their studies and to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise may not have been available.

Could you benefit from financial assistance in your program? Be sure to check out our Scholarships and Awards page to see what you may be eligible for and how to apply.

Read the stories below to hear how scholarships have helped other students achieve their career and life goals.

Clayton Varjassy
The Honourable Senator Joyce Fairbairn Scholarship recipient 2012

"It’s the recognition of my hard work that keeps me striving to maintain a certain level of excellence.

"Sometimes it’s hard to justify the copious amounts of time spent buried in books, but being recognized with a scholarship makes it all worthwhile.

"Not only that, but it also helps relieve some of the financial burden of schooling and the generosity is greatly
appreciated."

Kathryn "Katie" Wood
Leonard Haney Scholarship recipient 2012

Katie Wood scholarship dinner 2012

"I want to express my sincere gratitude for this Management scholarship.

"I once heard it said that education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. I am so grateful for the wonderful life lessons that I have learned throughout my time here at the University.

"This scholarship will help ease the financial pressures of school and allow me to focus on becoming my best self."
