MGT4640 and ECON3850
The work study group is scheduled to depart early July and return mid-August (dates are still approximate and may vary slightly depending on flight availability). Tentative dates: July 3 – Aug 11, 2017
The estimated cost of the trip for Canadian students is $2,500 plus cost of tuition for MGT 4640 and ECON 3850. The program fee covers accommodation, securing work placement, gift to employer, one group cultural tour, commuting costs and weekly seminars. The fee does not include airfare and food during the program in Hungary. Students are also responsible for the cost of travel health insurance for travel in Hungary.
Work placements are usually research project based. Examples of past student-directed projects include: market entry research (wine industry), writing business plans for corporate research (agricultural business), financial analysis for diversified companies, developing marketing plans, interviewing possible international student applicants (higher education).
Students and University of Lethbridge instructors will stay in a very popular leisure center surrounded by an extensive wooded and grassy area: in triple or quadruple occupancy apartments with bathroom (max. 2 students in each room); shared living room and kitchen. Facilities include wireless internet in common areas, pool access (nominal fee applies) weekly cleaning, bedsheets and towel change. The building is located in a beautiful natural setting, about 20 minutes from the subway, and is near public transit. Each apartment in the hostel has a private bathroom, television, microwave and refrigerator. The Center organizes numerous summer events such as concerts, festivals and sporting competitions, therefore is busy throughout the summer: you'll have a chance to meet other visiting students.
On-site restaurant offers breakfast starting from $3.50; lunch and dinner menu from $6.
