Chinook Health Sexual Health Centre
PURPOSE:
This Centre provides education, consultation, resources, counselling and clinical services relating to human sexuality.
RESOURCES:
Sexuality books, journals, pamphlets and reference materials are available to clients, parents, teachers, professionals and the public.
SERVICES:
- Counselling on sexual decision-making, pregnancy options, birth control and STI/HIV information and referral to other agencies and resources
- Free, confidential clinical services to adolescents and young adults under 25 years of age. Services include pregnancy tests, pelvic examinations and Pap smears, testing for STI/HIV, prescriptions and supplies, contact tracing
- Referrals to other professionals, agencies and services when appropriate
- Education programs to professionals, students, parents, adolescents, schools, communities and special needs groups
- Consultation on curriculum design, education content, and delivery of sexuality information to distinct client groups
- Open to the public
- Resource materials are loaned; a borrower's agreement must be signed
