Frequently Asked Questions

These instructions will create persistent links that work both on and off campus.

Instructions:

  1. Connect to the DSM Premium database from the Library’s database page
  2. Conduct a search
  3. From the search results list > Book Results > click on the article title > find the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) in the citation directly above the full-text of the article. (DOIs are only available after 2005)

    From the search results list > Journal Results > click on either full-text or abstract > find the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) in the citation directly above the full-text or abstract of the article. (DOIs are only available after 2005)

  4. To convert a DOI to a URL, precede it with the following:

http://dx.doi.org/

For example:  10.1176/appi.ps.59.1.116

Becomes:  http://dx.doi.org/10.1176/appi.ps.59.1.116

Now add the UofL Library's proxy to your permanent link.

For example:  http://dx.doi.org/10.1176/appi.ps.59.1.116

Becomes:  http://0-dx.doi.org.darius.uleth.ca/10.1176/appi.ps.59.1.116  

     5. Copy and paste this link into your web document.
