Persistent Link Information for JSTOR Databases

Frequently Asked Questions

These instructions will create persistent links that work both on and off campus.

Instructions:

1. Connect to JSTOR database from the Library’s database page
2. Conduct a search
3. From the search results list, copy and paste the Stable URL which is listed below the titles with full text access
4. The link must go through the Library's proxy server.  You  must change the beginning of the stable url from this: http://links.jstor.org/

        to this: http://0-links.jstor.org.darius.uleth.ca/  otherwise the link will not work.

        An example of a complete persistent link from JSTOR is:

        http://0-links.jstor.org.darius.uleth.ca/sici?sici=0018-702X%28197324%2F197424%2926%3A4%3C690%3AMS%3E2.0.CO%3B2-L

    5.  Click Enter

Note:  Some databases may not offer persistent links.  For further information, contact your subject librarian or use our Ask Us service.

To ensure that you will always be able to find your online materials again, copy the complete citation below the URL. The complete citation information should include: author, title, publication, volume and issue number (if applicable), copyright year and page numbers. Make note of where the article was found. [Retrieved from database provider and database name].
