Frequently Asked Questions - Placing Holds/Requests

1. How do I get a book that is loaned out to someone else?
University students, staff and faculty may place a hold by: When the book is returned, you will be notified via email.

2. The book I want is "On Order". How can I get it when it comes in?
You may request this book by either: Note: This service is offered only to University of Lethbridge registered students, staff and faculty.

3. The book I want is "In Process". What does this mean and how can I get it?
Any item that is labeled "In Process" has arrived in the Library but has not yet been catalogued and placed on the shelves. You may request this book by either:

4. How do I cancel a hold that I've put on an item?
Ask the General Services Desk staff to cancel your hold.

5. What if a book is missing from the shelves but is supposed to be in the Library?
6. I have to return this book and someone else has already put a hold on it. How can I get it back?
Return it to us and ask us to place a hold on it for you. Then you will be able to get it again within three weeks.

 

7. Can I book audiovisual equipment and software?
Yes, you can--for information on the process, check out the Media webpage

8. How can I get a journal that is "At bindery"?
Fill out an Interlibrary Loan request form and we will attempt to get a copy of the article from another Library as soon as possible.
