Freedom to Read Week, February 22-28, 2004

Feb-19-2004 - Oct-28-2004

Freedom to Read Week, Feb. 22-28th, "encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, which is guaranteed them under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms." The Library created two displays on this theme. Banned books in Canada and posters from the Freedom of Expression Committee of the Book and Periodical Council were the major part of the display in the Library entrance. A poster and a book wrapped in barbed wire were the major focus of the case in the Hall of Honour.
