Native Awareness Week March 10-14, 2008
Feb-11-2008 - May-12-2008
To tie in with Native Awareness Week which will be held on the UofL campus the second week of March, we created a display of Library materials that focus on native issues in Canada. Some of the areas we highlighted are native health and healing, residential schools, gambling, native art and literature, native women's issues and the Blackfoot tribe.
We enhanced our display with native artifacts willingly loaned to us by the Native American Studies Dept. on campus. We also showcase photos of native peoples and their lives photographed by Kathy Thornhill, Records Manager at the UofL. Thanks to the NAS Dept. and to Kathy - their items so positively impact our display!
We encourage all University of Lethbridge Library users having current borrowing privileges to borrow items on display; simply ask at the General Services Desk and someone will retrieve the items for you.
