Your campus ID card

What is it?

The U of L Campus ID Card is the University of Lethbridge's official picture identification card. It serves as a debit card without any banking fees using Bridge Bucks for goods and services transactions, and it can be used to control access to specific locations around campus; e.g., the Fitness Centre. The debit card feature is also used for Campus Housing Dining Plans

How is it used?

It is used primarily for identification purposes as well as a debit card for transacting purchases on campus through the use of Bridge Bucks.

How do I get one?

The Computing Labs in E6 in University Hall distribute the cards. All University students and staff are given a Campus ID Card provided they have a valid University of Lethbridge Identification number.

Why do I need the U of L Campus ID Card?

Identification. Campus ID cards must be presented to write an officially scheduled examination or to use the library facilities. In addition, some services such as the issuance of bursary or scholarship cheques, require the presentation of a valid U of L Campus ID Card. A current Campus ID Card is required for a parking pass and access to facilities such as the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness.

How do I obtain a card?

Students may obtain a Campus ID Card at the Computing labs located in E6 at the north end of University Hall once they have been admitted to the U of L.

U of L employees can obtain a Campus ID Card once employment has been processed through Human Resources. A photo will be taken in order to process the card, and valid official picture ID will be required to obtain the final card. Employees must have a valid ID# issued prior to obtaining a Campus ID Card.

Campus guests can obtain a non-designated copy card at the Copy Centre or Library.

Is there a charge for the card?

Your first Campus ID Card is free. If it is lost, stolen or damaged there will be a $10.00 replacement fee. Cards that fail to scan properly may be replaced free of charge if they are not damaged or modified. All replacement cards are issued at the computer lab locations in E6 north end of University Hall.

What is the U of L Campus Card ID used for?

Identification: Campus ID cards must be presented for entrance into certain events; e.g., to write an officially scheduled examination, to use the library facilities or Fitness Centre. In addition, some services such as the issuance of bursary or scholarship cheques require the presentation of a valid Campus ID Card.

Debit Card: The Campus ID Card has a designated account for Bridge Bucks. Individuals can deposit money into their Bridge Bucks account to be used as a debit account. Bridge Bucks are accepted at University Food Service and vending locations, the Copy Centre and copier vending machines. Visitors to campus may purchase non-designated copy cards with fixed amounts of Bridge Bucks at the Library and Copy Centre. There are no banking or transaction fees when using Bridge Bucks. Pre-loaded cards in various denominations are like cash and must be treated as such.

Dining Plans: The Campus ID Card has a designated account for dining plan holders who live in Campus Housing. This is a separate debit account. Dining plan purchases can be made at any University Food Service locations; i.e., Coulee Junction Café, Fresh Express, The Station, and Tim Hortons.
