Delaying Registration

You may be able to delay registration for a semester

If you do not have enough time to prepare and submit your Visa application for the upcoming semester, you may request to begin your studies the following semester, but only if an alternate date has been provided on your Letter of Acceptance. Review your Letter of Acceptance Box 24 and Box 25.

Example: If you applied for Spring 2016, your Letter of Acceptance would be valid for Spring 2016 and Fall 2016

You must take your Letter of Acceptance to the Canadian Embassy immediately and apply for later semester.

If your Visa/Study Permit is processed late

If you submit your Visa/Study Permit application and it is not processed before the last start date listed in your Letter of Acceptance, you will be required to reapply to the University. The Registrar's Office will need to provide you with a new Offer of Admission and Letter of Acceptance.

Re-admission is not guaranteed.

You can not delay registration for a year

Please note that if you apply for Spring 2013, but are unable to attend the University of Lethbridge until Spring 2014, you would have to reapply. You will need to provide official transcript from any educational institution that you attend between applications.

Re-admission is not guaranteed.
