File Storage

The University of Lethbridge provides several options for networked-shared storage, depending on your requirements.

All departments have a central departmental share for store and share files that pertain to the business operations of your area. These shares typically have additional secured subfolders to restrict access to certain groups within the department, or allow users from outside the department to collaborate.

Each user has a personal file space available to back up personal data - this data cannot be shared with others.

If you are teaching a class in a computer lab that requires central storage for assignments or collaboration, this can be provided as well, with several different possibilities depending on use case, including:

  • Private folders per student
  • Full class-writable collaboration space
  • Read-only space to provide sample files to students for assignments

Shared storage for research projects is also available upon request.

All storage requests are subject to approval and review to ensure the best available solution is provided.
