Blackberry devices will not connect directly with the Exchange server and because of this, we use a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). If you are staff or faculty, are on our Exchange email server and have a Blackberry device (with a data plan that supports Enterprise data coverage), we can give you BES access. BES access will allow you to send/receive email on your Blackberry as well manage calendar items and contacts. Once you request BES Access, you will be sent an activation code to your U of L email address. Enter this code into the Enterprise Activation section of your Blackberry device as soon as possible, once you receive it (it will expire after 48 hours).
First ensure that your cellular data plan supports enterprise data (not all Blackberry data plans do), and then email help@uleth.ca, requesting BES access. If your Blackberry device was ordered through Materials Management, your data plan will support enterprise data. If you are unsure if your cellular data plan supports enterprise data, please contact your service provider.
There is no cost for this service, as it is funded by the University.
