Physics and Astronomy Post Doctoral Fellow Research Associate

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral fellow / Research Associate position in the University of Lethbridge Institute for Space Imaging Science. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Prof. David Naylor in the development and testing of cryogenic instrumentation for submillimetre astronomy, particularly related to the proposed SPICA\SAFARI and FIRI space telescopes. The position involves work with cryogenic infrared detector systems, electronic instrumentation, and associated control and data reduction software.
While this project is ideally suited to a Post-Doctoral fellow with a background in experimental astrophysics or cryogenic detector systems, applicants possessing an MSc in Astronomy/Physics/Engineering, or sufficient hardware and/or software expertise relevant to this research area are encouraged to apply. Experience with electronics, cryogenics, and vacuum systems are definite assets.

The position will begin as soon as it can be filled and will run for two years with the possibility to renew. Work will be based in Lethbridge. Salary for this position will be competitive, and commensurate with previous experience and qualifications.
