Drama Instructor - Edmonton Campus

The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts invites applications for an Academic Assistant to teach courses in Theatre and Dramatic Arts at the Edmonton Campus of the University of Lethbridge. This is a two-year appointment for 8 months per year commencing September 1, 2013, and subject to the approval of the Board of Governors.

Applicants will hold a graduate degree in theatre and/or dramatic arts and will have a record of creative activity. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable record of excellence in teaching at the post-secondary level-and in particular, the delivery of Drama classes to non-Drama majors.

Teaching duties will include introductory-level courses through lecture, practical, and experiential methodologies in the offering of courses for non-Drama majors such as Introduction to Drama, Exploring Creativity, Speech Communication, and other performance related courses.

The Faculty of Fine Arts courses in Theatre and Dramatic Arts are delivered at the Edmonton Campus situated in Concordia University. Courses are taught within a liberal arts education context that focuses on excellence in teaching.

Interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest describing all areas of interest, a current curriculum vitae, and a teaching dossier that includes a statement of teaching philosophy. Please arrange for three confidential letters of reference from qualified referees to be sent directly to the Dean by the closing date.
