Academic Writing/Rhetoric and Composition Instructor
The Academic Writing Program at The University of Lethbridge invites
applications for two two-year term positions, with the possibility
of conversion to continuing appointment, at the level of Academic
Assistant. The positions will begin July 1, 2013, and they will be
subject to budgetary approval and program needs.
Applicants should hold a completed PhD or Master's degree, preferably
in rhetoric and composition (specializing in academic writing, writing
in the disciplines pedagogies, and genre theory). In addition, experience
teaching in these areas as well as working in writing centres with
graduate and undergraduate students from across the disciplines will
be assets. Successful candidates will be expected to teach multiple
sections of introductory academic writing, to develop and teach occasional
upper-level writing-intensive courses, and to work in the U of L's
Academic Writing Centre.
Located in southern Alberta, near the Rocky Mountains, the city of

vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, outlines of courses previously
taught, teaching evaluations, transcripts, and the names of at least

The closing date for applications is May 3rd, 2013. Consideration
of completed applications will begin immediately thereafter will continue
until the positions are filled.
