POLICY:
The University may offer a relocation assistance program to assist in attracting qualified employees. The program will provide financial assistance to offset relocation costs.
PROCEDURE:
Relocation assistance in the form of a removal allowance may be provided to Executive Directors who are appointed to full-time probationary, continuing or term positions and who are required to move their residence to assume their appointment.
The removal allowance is intended to assist with the cost of the physical removal of new staff members, their spouse and dependent children from their place of residence. It is not intended to cover personal expenditures associated with the relocation such as legal fees, commissions on the sale or purchase of property, or other expenditure not directly related to the physical removal. Full details are available by referring to the Removal Allowance Regulations, available from Financial Services.
The maximum removal allowance will be specified in the employment
contract.
