Chocolate smoothie or “shake”
2 cups of frozen bananas (make sure these are yellow when you freeze them – NOT brown or too ripe like for banana bread)
1 cup of almond milk/coconut milk/cow’s milk/soy milk (adjust to desired thickness – more thick to eat with a spoon, less thick to drink w/ a straw)
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (adjust to level of chocolatey-ness)
4~10 drops of liquid stevia (to taste) (of course you can use honey or maple syrup or sugar – but stevia is a natural, no-sugar sweetener)
1 pinch sea salt
Optional:
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of flax oil or 3-6-9 oil
Pro-biotic powder – ¼ tsp.
Protein powder – scoop (add a bit more liquid to compensate for more dry ingredients)
Liquid vitamins – 1 tsp.
Add all ingredients, blend, taste, adjust, eat.
Kids (and adults) love this because it tastes like a chocolate milk shake. They can’t taste the flax oil or protein or vitamins added. I use the leftovers to make “fudgsicles”. Best healthy junk food I can think of.
