Automated External Defibrillators (AED)

Automated External Defibrillators (AED) proved an electric shock to a heart that has stopped beating. AEDs have been proven as one of the most important tools in saving the lives of individuals suffering from suddent cardiac arrest.

Locations

AED units are located in each building throughout campus. Take a moment to orientate yourself to the AED location nearest to you. University staff should familiarise themselves with the location of the AED nearest their work area and the person(s) who are trained to administer first aid/CPR. AED locations are indicated on the interactive campus map.

Please note when the AED housing is accessed it will emit a very high alarm.

On Campus Emergancies

In the event of serious injury or illness on campus immediately call 911. For non-emergent injuries or illness, Security Services is available 24 hours a day for assistance by calling 403-329-2345 or 2345 from any university phone. Please proceed with assisting the injured or ill individual until you are replaced by a more qualified First Aid responder.

 

*All incidents occuring on campus must be reported to Risk & Safety Services within 24 hours by completeing a Campus Accident/Incident Report.
