When in Doubt, Throw It Out!
Thursday, October 19, 2006
The University of Maryland offers useful information on whether the “leftovers from last week are still good.” You can read the whole story at www.dining.umd.edu/nutrition/articles.cfm#leftovers
Some of the highlights:
- An important tip to know for the future is that food should be either eaten or stored in the refrigerator within two hours of its preparation.
- Taste-testing anything that looks or smells ‘strange’ is not recommended
- The safe storage limit for foods such as hamburgers and chicken nuggets is one to two days
