First Nations Transition Program

For students who are lacking one or more of the 30-level courses required for admission to one of the programs, the one-year First Nations’ Transition Program prepares students for entry into the Health Sciences baccalaureate programs. Students take courses in mathematics, chemistry, biology, health sciences, writing, computers, and information literacy.

To be accepted to the First Nations’ Transition Program (FNTP), you must have:

- English Language Arts 20-1 or English Language Arts 30-2

And three academic courses chosen from:

- Aboriginal Studies 20
- Biology 20
- Chemistry 20
- One of: Art 30, Art 31, Dance 35, Drama 30, Choral Music 30, General Music 30, or Instrumental Music 30
- Mathematics 20-1 or Mathematics 20-2
- Physics 20
- Science 20
- Social Studies 20-1 or Social Studies 30-2
- A 20-level language

Students are encouraged to complete a range of 30-level high school courses, or equivalent, before application. Some option courses within the transition program have specific high school requirements.

The application deadline for the First Nations' Transition Program is August 31.
