Bachelor of Nursing After Degree

As part of our commitment to increase educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in the health professions, the University of Lethbridge, in collaboration with Lethbridge College, is introducing a new Bachelor of Nursing After Degree program in Fall 2009!

The program is designed to offer an accelerated course of studies to a Bachelor of Nursing for students who have previously earned an approved degree in any discipline or field of study.

The 80-credit program will be offered over six consecutive semesters; students will attend from September to August and will be able to complete in a period of approximately 23 months. Appropriate breaks between, and occasionally within, semesters will be scheduled in order to provide time for vacation. Students will take two semesters of intensive introduction to nursing theory and practice at Lethbridge College before joining Nursing Education in Southwestern Alberta (NESA) students at the University of Lethbridge for their final four semesters. When you complete the program, you will be eligible to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE), giving you the opportunity to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN).

The innovative NESA program is taught by first-rate faculty and health care researchers and experts in rural and urban clinical practice. Our goal is to develop your ability to provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing care to all members of society. We will provide you with a superb education in preparation for a most rewarding career in nursing.
