Funding
Melanie Meier Brayton, Graduate Studies Awards Advisor is responsible for:
- Monitoring graduate awards and assisting students in locating appropriate award competitions;
- Holding skill building workshops for graduate students and supervisors;
- Conducting research for specific funding opportunities, as well as assisting in researching funding options specific to student topics;
- Encouraging and guiding students in writing proposals and/or grant applications;
- Ensuring that graduate students are applying for and receiving funding from internal and external sources;
- Promoting the School of Graduate Studies on a local, national and international level through student funding opportunities.
Financial assistance for eligible graduate students is available in a variety of forms including teaching and research assistantships, entrance or continuing scholarships, fellowships, awards, grants, and bursaries. The School of Graduate Studies also offers support for seeking, preparing and applying for the different types of funding options. Students are encouraged to contact Melanie prior to the commencement of their program for advice and funding options.
