3MT Practice Sessions

The 4th Annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is hosted by the SGS and GSA. Registered participants should review the 3MT Information Package for detailed information about the 2016 competition.

  1. Practice Session 2 – February 14 – 3:00 to 4:30 pm – B640
  2. Practice Session 2 – February 15 – 3:00 to 4:30 pm – B640
  3. Practice Session 2 – February 16 – 3:00 to 4:30 pm – B640
  4. Each student registered in the 3MT competition will have an individualized practice session appointment – 15 minutes in duration.
  5. Participation in the practice session is optional.
  6. Register Now! Registration closes at 4:30 pm on January 27, 2017 We will attempt to accommodate everyone’s preferences.
  7. Please forward your PP slide by 4:30 pm on February 6, 2017 to Stacey Leavitt (copied on this email).
  8. Your appointment time for a specific practice session will be forwarded by TBA.  This email will include additional information outlining important information, additional details, and required forms that need to be completed.
  9. Please arrive 10 minutes before your practice session appointment and come prepared with your presentation notes and materials for taking notes.

Note: We will be hosting three heats on February 28, March 1, and 2nd from 4:00-6:00 pm in AH100.  Additional information regarding the heats will be forthcoming.

The working committee for the 3MT will prepare the practice session environment:

  1. Open PP slide for each presenter,
  2. Start 3-minute clock for each presenter,
  3. Track appointment time,
  4. Take notes reflecting coaches feedback and comments, and
  5. Monitor access to B640.  Please do not enter B640 until an invitation is extended by a committee member.
