Dr. Robert J. Turner, Q.C., LL.D. (h.c.)

 Dr. Robert Turner, Q.C., LL.D. (h.c.) was appointed chair of the University of Lethbridge Board of Governors from September 26, 2006 until October 2, 2012.

Dr. Turner has a strong connection to the University of Lethbridge, not only as a former student, and as a member of its Board of Governors from 2002 - 2012, but in 2013 he was also awarded an honorary doctorate of law. He is a graduate of the Lethbridge Junior College, the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta.

Dr. Turner is Vice-Chair and Consultant of the national law firm, Dentons Canada (formerly Fraser Milner Casgrain). He has extensive experience as a Director of some very diverse organizations both in Canada and the United States. He was past Chairman and Director of the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club, Director of the Edmonton Space and Science Foundation, Vice-Chair of the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Science and Engineering Research (Alberta Ingenuity), Director and Secretary of three Grey Cups, Board Advisor to the Edmonton Economics Development Corporation, and past President of Friends of KSPS Spokane Public Television. He is currently a Director, Vice-Chair, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel to Millar Western Forest Products Ltd.
