It was at an early age in a University of Lethbridge laboratory that Dave Schwass (BSc ’88) first caught the science bug. Although he wasn’t yet a student at the U of L (he was only 9 years old, after all), his older brother was, and Dave found himself in the neuroscience lab with his sibling on more than one occasion.

Insurance gift inspires young researchers

It would have been a special year for former Lethbridge mayor, the late Andy Anderson (LLD ’85), and his wife Rheta. Not only did the University of Lethbridge – which Andy played a key role in establishing – celebrate its 45th anniversary, 2012 also marked the inaugural presentation of the Andrew and Rheta Anderson Scholarship. The scholarships are the first of a legacy gift Andy and Rheta left to the U of L after their deaths.
