Research expertise

I am an ethnographer with a focus on Guatemala where I have conducted long-term research in a K’iche’ Maya community since 1999. My interests center around religion and ethnicity in local and transnational contexts, with particular interest in the various ways indigenous religious practices are expressed and transformed in various contexts. See my Campus Directory entry for more detail, and for a list of relevant publications. Please note that I am not currently accepting graduate students for supervision.
