The University operates a centralized property control system (Banner Fixed Assets) that identifies nonexpendable property. The ultimate purpose of this centralized property control system is to safeguard the University's long-lived assets. Long-lived assets are nonexpendable property such as buildings and equipment which have a useful life greater than one year and provide future benefit to the University. Financial Services is responsible for the overall management of assets at the University of Lethbridge which consists of two areas:

Capital Project Accounting is responsible for tracking and reporting the financial information related to all University construction, renovation and infrastructure maintenance projects.

Equipment & Furnishings is responsible for tracking and maintaining the accounting records for nonexpendable equipment and furnishings.

Life Cycle Replacement Program is responsible for replacing essential equipment from Life Cycle departments, when it no longer adds value to the University's strategic plan.
