Students admitted to the Post-Diploma BFA (Arts) (After a three year Diploma) are required to complete a minimum of 15 courses, including 8 courses in Art, at the University of Lethbridge.
As part of the required core courses, students will be introduced to art studio areas in a Visual Foundations course and must take studio courses in drawing and computer art. Students will also take courses in art history/museum studies, and further studio areas including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photo-arts, video, installation art or audio art. Studio courses will culminate with Advanced Studio and Senior studio courses.
You have access to spacious and well-equipped facilities that allow you to undertake projects with expert technical support, creative guidance, and critical dialogue.
You can meet more than 50 national and international artists, architects, curators and designers who speak on campus every year. Many are willing to visit your studio to discuss your work, which is a valuable learning opportunity.
Students pursuing a Post Diploma BFA (Art)/B.Ed are required to submit a portfolio and a personal statement.
