A major in Sociology provides graduates with a basis for understanding connections
between different disciplines.
Sociology is the systematic study of human society, including the interaction
between individuals, groups, and institutions. It provides the conceptual and
methodological tools for critical thinking, which, in turn, provide insight
into how people relate to one another and the values, beliefs, institutions,
and processes that shape society. Sociology stimulates an original way of looking
at the world and the individual's place in it.
