Annual Literature Fair
Each fall the University of Lethbridge Faculty of Educations' English Language Arts instructors and the Curriculum Laboratory librarians sponsor an annual Literature Fair at the University of Lethbridge. Over 250 people attend, including all PSI students, faculty, some PSIII interns, and teachers from Zone 6.
Staff from the University and local educational community present information about their favorite books and the various genres of children’s and young adults’ literature during the plenary session.
Participants attend roundtable sessions, where presenters give book talks on their favorite books, in genres as varied as historical fiction, contemporary realistic fiction, informational books, poetry, fantasy, multi-cultural books, adventure fiction, graphic novels, FNMI literature and a wide array of picture books. Various displays included the Rocky Mountain Book Awards, Children’s Choice and Librarian’s Choice award-winning books and curriculum resource materials.
The University Bookstore provides a display which sells a wide variety of children’s and young adults’ literature at a discount to participants.
