First Nations, Métis and Inuit Curriculum Collection
The Faculty of Education sponsored the development of this First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) Curriculum Collection. It is a collection of lessons and resources designed to help pre and in-service teachers incorporate FNMI content in their teaching across subjects and grade levels. One can browse through the collection or search by categories (e.g. subject, title, key word, grade, etc.).
It is recommended that before exploring the collection, that you take 5 minutes and review the search tutorial.
This Curriculum Collection is dedicated to Johnel Tailfeathers. She developed the first FNMI Resource Website that was the inspiration for this database. For over 15 years she provided leadership to the Faculty of Education and the University on programming for FNMI students. She worked tirelessly to ensure the needs of FNMI students were met. Special acknowledgment goes out to Cathy Campbell for her persistence to develop the first iteration of the database; the current version is largely her conceptual design. Thanks go to Dawn Burleigh who continues to support and maintain the database and was instrumental in making the current version a reality with the student help of Tonia Wells and Crystal Young Pine.
Special thanks to all our students past and present for their contributions to this collection.
