EUS Professional Development

Message from the Director

Welcome to EUS Professional Development! Participating in professional development (PD) as a pre-service teacher is the first step in gaining experience "outside of the classroom" while still benefiting your students in the long run. The EUS hosts a series of PD sessions each fall and spring semester and are usually held during the lunch hour. Each semester's PD schedule is released a few weeks after the start of classes and they will be posted on this page for you to access. Sessions will also be posted on the whiteboard in the Curr. Lab. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other member of the Executive Council. We hope to see many of you at the sessions!

Director, Professional Development

Who can attend PD sessions?

How do I apply for a PD Grant?

The EUS has allocated funds to distribute several PD grants for EUS Members who have attended education related conferences, seminars and sessions each semester.  A grant has a maximum value of $100 and is meant to help cover the costs incurred with the conference (ex. registration fee, transportation).  In order to apply for a grant, you must do the following in the form of a letter addressed to the Executive Council: [1] state the conference and the purpose of your attendance (how it relates to your studies and professional development); [2] provide financial record of payment for the costs incurred (reciept) [3] explicit dollar amount that you are requesting up to the maximum as outlined by the Executive Council early in each semester; and [4] provide proof of registration in the conference.

Successful applicants will receive their cheque after they have attended the conference.  Only one grant per member per semester will be awarded, and members must be in good standing to be considered for the grant.

Grant application forms are available at the EUS office, through section representatives, or through the following link: EUS PD Grant Application Form.
