CPA Bridging

Initial funding for program development was provided by Alberta’s CA profession through the Chartered Accountants Education Foundation of Alberta, and with support from the Government of Alberta’s Access to the Future Fund and Foreign Qualification Recognition Innovation Fund.

Your bridge to an unlimited career

Available at University of Lethbridge’s campuses in Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton, CPA Bridging enables you to complete the business and accounting courses needed for entrance into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), while you continue to work full time. PEP is the certification program for the CPA designation.

Designed with the needs of adult learners in mind, courses are offered evenings and weekends in Calgary and Edmonton, and during the day in Lethbridge. They are taught by PhD-qualified academic staff and experienced accounting professionals in a classroom environment.

For more information about the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) and required courses for program entrance, visit the Alberta Accountants website at: http://www.albertaaccountants.org/Become-a-CPA/Getting-Started/PEP

The destination: Canada’s preeminent business and accounting designation

Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs) do more than just create financial statements. They are policy makers, strategists and advisors. Recognized worldwide, the CPA designation signifies financial expertise, strategic thinking, business insight and leadership.

Is CPA bridging right for you?

The program was designed specifically to enable those with a four-year degree in any discipline to transition into a career as a CPA. You don’t need prior accounting courses or work experience, so you can become a business leader, without a business background. In addition, you take only the courses you need. If you’ve already completed some of the PEP prerequisite courses, you’ll complete CPA Bridging more quickly. Custom program planning gets you into your new career as soon as possible.

Professional diploma in accounting

CPA Bridging students may also be awarded the university’s Professional Diploma in Accounting (PDA). Contact an advisor to see if your CPA Bridging program plan meets the diploma requirements.
