Live, work and study in Budapest, Hungary!
If you're looking for a life-altering adventure that will give you international work experience, allow you to continue your studies in an immersive way, and let you to put into practice the theories you've been learning throughout your business degree, this is it. During this six-week program you will experience Hungarian culture by working for either a Hungarian or multinational company, as well as complete academic assignments. You will receive course credit for MGT 4640 and ECON 3850 after completing the program.

The work-study group is scheduled to depart early July and return mid-August. Dates are approximate and may vary slightly depending on flight availability.
The estimated cost of the trip for Canadian students is $2,500, plus cost of tuition for MGT 4640 and ECON 3850. The program fee covers accommodation, securing work placement, a gift to your employer, one group cultural tour, commuting costs and weekly seminars. The fee does not include airfare and food. You are also responsible for the cost of travel health insurance.
Work placements are usually based on research project. Examples of past student-directed projects include:
- market entry research for the wine industry;
- writing business plans for corporate research with an agricultural business;
- financial analysis for diversified companies;
- developing marketing plans; and
- interviewing possible international student applicants for higher education.
Students and University of Lethbridge instructors will stay in a very popular leisure centre, surrounded by an extensive wooded and grassy area, in triple or quadruple occupancy apartments with a bathroom (max. two students in each room) and shared living room and kitchen. Facilities include wireless internet in common areas, pool access (nominal fee applies) weekly cleaning, bedsheets and towel change. The building is located in a beautiful natural setting, about 20 minutes from the subway, and is near public transit. Each apartment has a private bathroom, television, microwave and refrigerator. The centre organizes numerous summer events such as concerts, festivals and sporting competitions, and therefore is busy throughout the summer—you'll have a chance to meet other visiting students.
On-site restaurant offers breakfast starting from $3.50, lunch and dinner menu from $6.
