University of Lethbridge hosts Native Awareness Week, Mar. 3-7

The University of Lethbridge and the Native American Students Association will present
the annual Native Awareness Week celebration
from Mar. 3

A number of activities are planned for the weeklong event,
beginning with Monday’s
Opening Ceremony
and
Pow Wow
(11 a.m., University Hall Atrium)
to a dramatic
production, fry bread and berry soup tastings, an entrepreneur
ship seminar, a drum
contest, talent show and much more.
A special SACPA on Campus session takes place Thursday, Mar. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. in
PE275 featuring Paul Chartrand as he discusses The Pros and the Cons of Abolishing the
Indian Act, while First Nations professional arti

All events are free of charge and open to the public.
Media is invited to attend any of these Native Awareness Week activities, many of
which will offer outstanding visuals for print and television use.
