Herschel/SPIRE Consortium

Tuesday, Feb. 16 to Thursday, Feb. 18, Markin Hall

Leading scientists from around the world have gathered for a four-day conference, the final meeting of the Herschel/SPIRE Consortium. The U of L’s David Naylor, physics and astronomy, and his team of researchers created SPIRE, one of three scientific instruments attached to the Herschel telescope.

Let’s Talk Science — Science at Night

Wednesday, Feb. 17, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., E750 and E714, University Hall chemistry labs

Science at Night is the first event of its kind at the U of L. This adults-only event provides fun, engaging, hands-on science activities.

Prairie University Biology Symposium (PUBS) and Graduate Biology Symposium

Thursday, Feb. 18, 7 a.m. to Saturday, Feb. 20, Atrium, B650, B660, University Hall

This annual symposium gives undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctoral fellows the chance to present their research, either as a platform presentation or poster display, attend workshops, listen to keynote speeches and socialize.
