Ventus Women’s Choir with special guest Lizzy Hoyt

Acclaimed songwriter Lizzy Hoyt is one of Canada’s most powerful Celtic folk artists. Known for bringing Canadian history to life with music, she will be performing with the Ventus Women’s Choir as part of the Canada 150 celebrations.

Spark 2017 Teaching Symposium

Thursday, April 27, 8:45 a.m. to Friday, April 28, 1 p.m., Markin Hall Atrium

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the U of L, the symposium will provide some reflection on the last 50 years and note the changes that have occurred in teaching and learning through lectures, panel discussions, poster presentations and round-table talks. Dr. Shelly Wismath, a leader in teaching excellence, will provide the keynote address.

1st Responder to Sexual Abuse and Assault Training

Thursday, April 27, 9 a.m. to Friday, April 28, 4:30 p.m., Andy’s Place, AH100

Workshop participants will learn and develop skills in the definitions, myths and laws about the various types of sexual abuse and sexual assault, training in the long-term impacts, responding to disclosures of sexual assault and abuse and engaging in prevention of sexual violence. The training is provided by the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services.
