Advisory - University teams with Lethbridge College to host 5th Annual Cor Van Raay Agribusiness Case Competition

The University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College are proud to co-host the 5th annual Cor Van Raay Agribusiness Case Competition, the first of its kind in western Canada.

This unique two-day event (Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19) is designed for students from Lethbridge College, the University of Lethbridge and other post-secondary institutions. Participants can be in any year of study and from a range of disciplines, including agricultural studies, economics, commerce and business programs.

A total of 10 teams of five students each will have four hours to analyze a written case and develop a solution. Each team will deliver a 15-minute presentation of their solution to a panel of judges, followed by 10-minute Q&A that demonstrates their acumen in the areas of agribusiness and agriculture. Teams will compete for their share of $2,000 in prize money.

Competing teams include one each from Olds College and University of Saskatchewan, and eight hybrid teams made up of U of L and Lethbridge College students.

Friday, Oct. 18
Networking reception and keynote address, 5:30 p.m. in U of L Students’ Union Ballrooms

Saturday, Oct. 19
Case Competition preparation, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in U of L Markin Hall
Case Competition presentations, 12 p.m. in U of L Markin Hall
Gala Dinner and Awards, 5:00 to 9 p.m., Lethbridge College Garden Court
