Scholarships

The following are just a few of the awards and scholarships offered to undergraduate students at the University of Lethbridge. For more information, see “Awards and Scholarships” in the University of Lethbridge Calendar.

Dayna B. Daniels Scholarship in Women and Gender Studies

Value:  $500

Eligibility: Full or part-time students continuing in any University of Lethbridge undergraduate degree program.  Successful completion of a minimum of three Women and Gender Studies numbered courses, (Women Studies prior to 2013).  GPA 3.5 or higher.  Applied and Independent Studies will not be considered.

Executive Women International (Lethbridge) Award

Value: $500
Eligibility: A Single mother from Southern Alberta who has at least second year standing.
Criteria: Academic achievement and financial need.
Application deadline: May 31


Canadian Federation of University Women (Lethbridge) Bursary

Value: $500
Eligibility: A mature student or single parent enrolled in any degree program.
Criteria: Academic achievement and financial need.
Application Deadline: May 31


December 6 Award

Value: $75 Book Prize
Eligibility: A female student who has at least second year standing and has demonstrated interest and involvement in women’s issues.
Criteria: Academic achievement and financial need.
Deadline: May 31


Margaret McLeod Memorial S. D. Scholarship

Value: $500
Eligibility: A single parent enrolled in the Faculty of Education. Must have graduated from an Alberta high school, and delayed post-secondary studies for several years. Preference will be given to those with a major in Art, English, or Music.
Criteria: Academic achievement and financial need.
Deadline: May 31


Diane Cooper Memorial Scholarship

Value: $750
Eligibility: A student with a second year standing in the Faculty of Arts and Science, pursuing a Social Science program with an emphasis on women’s issues and research.
Criteria: Academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated an interest in Social Sciences through community service.
Deadline: May 31


Meliorist Bursary for Single Parents

Value: $100
Eligibility: Single parent.
Criteria: Academic achievement and financial need.
Deadline: May 31 (continuing students), July 15 (Fall entrance), and Dec. 15 (Spring entrance).
