Lethbridge high school students will participate in unique, hands-on science activities at the University of Lethbridge on April 30, 2013. This day will not only be filled with many fun science activities for the enthusiastic students participating in this ‘Let’s DO Science Day’, but it will also inspire them to think about their future careers after graduating from high school.

At the end of the day, students will be awarded prizes for their achievements and participation and will hear a special presentation from Dr. Joseph Rasmussen, the Canada Research Council Chair in Aquatic Ecoystems and professor at the University of Lethbridge.
The ‘Let’s DO Science Day’is organized by science graduate student volunteers at the University of Lethbridge who are part of the national Let’s Talk Science Outreach program. It is their goal to share their passion for science with high school students, to increase the recognition of science, and to inspire students to pursue careers in science. In the past months, several graduate student volunteersof seven different science disciplines have designed hands-on activities for high school students.

Overall, more than 20 graduate and undergraduate student volunteers will assist during the ‘Let’s DO Science Day’ to make this event a fun and inspiring experience for the high school students.
