Dear Colleagues,
We would like to announce a special issue of the Canadian Journal of Physics on "Mid- and Far-Infrared Spectroscopy: Techniques and Applications".
Molecular spectroscopy has been a driving force behind infrared and far-infrared science and applications for several decades. Advances in source and detector development have led to expanded spectroscopic studies that range from unraveling weak molecular interactions in low pressure gases to applications as diverse as art history and cosmology. In order to highlight these exciting developments and current trends in the field, we plan to publish a special issue of the Canadian Journal of Physics entitled "Mid- and Far-Infrared Spectroscopy: Techniques and Applications" in spring 2013. We invite manuscript submissions in the areas of, but not limited to, i) Astronomy, planetary and Earth science applications; ii) Infrared spectroscopy of materials in physics, chemistry, biology and biomedicine; iii) Applications and methods in THz spectroscopy for non-destructive evaluation and industrial applications; iv) Spectroscopic sensing for environmental monitoring and security screening; and iv) Synchrotron-based infrared spectroscopy and applications. All submissions will be subject to the normal refereeing process for the Canadian Journal of Physics and must contain new and original results, unless they are approved by the Canadian Journal of Physics as useful review articles.
The deadline for submission of manuscripts is December 1, 2012. The expected publication date is Spring 2013.
Please let us know if you intend to submit a manuscript for this special issue. We would need the tentative title and author list for your submission.
