Dr. Eleanor Maguire
Dr. Maguire is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University College London, who piloted the famous “London Taxi Driver Study” which provided pivotal evidence linking structural changes in the brain to memory. Beyond this significant contribution, Dr. Maguire is also a Deputy Director at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at University College London and honorary member of the Department of Neuropsychology, National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery. Further, Dr. Maguire has also been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, a Fellow of the Royal Society, and an honorary Member of the Royal Irish Academy. Finally, she has won several prizes including Ig Nobel Prize for Medicine - awarded for research promoting the public awareness and understanding of science, the Cognitive Neuroscience Society Young Investigator Award, the Royal Society Rosalind Franklin Award, The Feldberg Foundation Prize, and the Dargut and Milena Kemali International Prize.
