BIP Research Training Program Recruitment Strategy

The Program Committee will have the final decision in selecting trainees based on:

  • Grades in courses relevant to core areas;
  • Breadth of background related to core areas;
  • Quality of 3 letters of reference; and
  • Strength of support and commitment from the prospective mentor.

Post Doctorate Fellows

  • Max 4 per year
  • 2 year term with the possibility of renewal for a 3rd year
  • Curriculum vitae
  • 3 letters of reference
  • 1-2 page statement of research interests
  • Letter from prospective supervisor

PhDs

  • Max 5 per year
  • Curriculum vitae
  • 3 letters of reference
  • 1-2 page statement of research interests
  • Letter from prospective supervisor
  • Undergraduate transcripts
  • Separate application to the Graduate Programme at the University of Lethbridge

MSc

  • Max 3 per year
  • Curriculum vitae
  • 3 letters of reference
  • 1-2 page statement of research interests
  • Letter from prospective supervisor
  • Undergraduate transcripts
  • Separate application to the Graduate Programme at the University of Lethbridge

Undergraduates

  • Max 2 per year undergraduate trainees
  • One undergraduate student will be selected through a competition to spend the summer months doing a rotation involving a dynamic imaging project and a cell biology project.

High School

  • One high school student will be selected through a competition to spend the summer months doing a rotation involving a dynamic imaging project and a cell biology project.
